This traditional dessert is served as a fish-shaped ice cream cone

Taiyaki is a Japanese fish-shaped cake. It’s made using regular pancake or waffle batter and filled with red bean paste which is made from sweetened azuki beans. Other common fillings may be custard, chocolate, cheese, or sweet potato.

Taiyaki is made using regular pancake or waffle batter. The batter is poured into a fish-shaped mould for each side. The filling is then put on one side and the mold is closed. It is then cooked on both sides until golden brown.

A new Japanese ice cream shop called Taiyaki NYC is serving fish-shaped ice cream cake filled with soft serve ice cream.
